January 2009

As IBP is coming to an end (how I wish time could pass quicker), it’s time to make some plans! Things (at the top of my head) that I plan to do when IBP ends for good:

1) Learn sewing with the sewing machine so I can make clothes and pouches, etc. :)

2) Learn driving!

3) Learn the Korean language. I love the Korean language. Like music to the ears. :)

4) Do some volunteer work. Either at children’s/old folk’s home.

Hello, one and all…

I’m officially 20!

Had a great birthday.

Reid sprung a surprise on me with a cheesecake birthday cake, a handmade card and a sweet love letter. :) Very touched.

The next day, we went rollerblading at ECP and then had steamboat at Hook On Steamboat. Whoo. Loved the steamboat, albeit problems with the fire which had us wasting much eating time. It was ok in the end though and I’m craving for more steamboat. :D

Do check out my FB for pictures. :)

So today, I’ll be out shopping with my mum. Great, I love shopping. :)

So anyway, thank you all the sweeties who remembered/took the effort to wish me a happy birthday. And of course, a big, exclusive thank you to Reid for taking the effort to plan his surprises and my birthday and for everything you said and gave me! I love you manymanymanymany!!! :* To everyone else, thank you for all your well wishes! This will be a great new year of my life.

20 is like a transition age… Transition from a teen to an adult. And I’m gonna make sure it’s gonna be a good age for me, one that I will fondly remember. This is the year for me to do the things I’ve never dared/tried to do before. The year where I will listen even more closely to what God’s saying, the year for increased tolerance and kindness… It’s an advantage to have your birthday in the beginning of the year, I realise… You can make resolutions not just for the new year but for the new year of your life as well. :)

Gosh, I’m 20. Time to stop thinking there are countless of opportunities for me to grow up and make all the mistakes I want. Sure, we learn from the mistakes we make but when you’re 20, I guess no one’s gonna be as tolerant. Time to really grow up, basically! :)

As I look back to my teenage years, I’m glad I feel a sense of nostalgia and yearning. In a way, I’m sad to have left behind those years in which I grew up the most. Those years were one emotionally tumultuous ride, what with friendships, crushing on boys, disagreements with parents, expectations of others, added responsibility, realising the horror humans can cause, and of course, finding my one love… :) Anyhow, my teenage years were good. And I thank God for every day I had and every experience I went through, even the bad ones.

So!

Goodbye ages 13 to 19! You guys have been AWESOME. :D

Now,

Say hello to the new, 20 year old me!

Nine more hours…

Noooo!!! I’m being robbed of my teenage years! When my peers are still nine-TEEN!!!

NOOOOO.

Ok, just being melodramatic. Next time when people ask me, how old are you? I have to say TWENTY!

Bleahh.

Gonna take getting used to.

Hi, my name is Tammy. I’m 20 this year.

Ashley’s made of paper. She bruises too easily. It’s scary! Beware when you shake her hand, give her a friendly smack or even tap her. Heck, don’t even touch her! The next thing you know, you will have burst her blood vessel. Don’t mistreat my paper friend.

Went for my night cycling with my cg members on Saturday night. Three words: Fun but TIRING! I could hardly go on anymore towards the end but I think I really pushed myself. My butt was aching like crazy man! I think everyone’s butt was aching la.

And I really want to say a big thank you to my cg members for springing a surprise mini birthday celeb on me. And I really love the placard, gift and card. Touched. :)

We cycled from ECP to Changi Village, then passed by Old Changi Hospital and rode back to Changi Village. We finished our adventure at 5am on Sunday! Haha. Good workout. Too good. Haha.

Happy 2009! I had the BEST last day of 2008 and the BEST first day of 2009!

Wanted to do something special on 31st December, so we went to Sentosa. Played the Luge&Skyride. Super super fun! Do check out my photos on FB if you’d like to see what it’s like.

After luge-ing, we hung out a little at the beach and then headed down to the Sentosa 4D Magix place. Went for both the Pirates and Waterlog. The waterlog ride is recommended! It’s funny. :)

In the night we went over to Reid’s colleague’s place to learn to bake chocolate cake. Her name’s Aileen and she’s part of the group of members from Philippines from church. Her cooking is A-MA-ZING! The other time, she made buffalo wings for Ried’s cg’s x’mas party and MAN! It was Delicious with a capital D! Even delicious is too mild a word to describe them. Ha! So she taught, we learnt and tried a little here and there. And the cake turned out awesome.

If you’re wondering why I did not bake my cupcake in the end, it’s a long story. Just know that in the end, we improvised on our plans and that everything turned out well. :) So we spent the first few moments of 2009 at their home and they were telling us how in the Philippines, the people celebrate festivals with so much more extravagance than in Singapore. It was a simple, yet warm way to enter the new year. :) Reid said: We baked from 2008 to 2009! Hahaha…

1 January 2009… We wanted to celebrate our 1st year on this day. By having a picnic, initially. However, after the fun the Sentosa, we decided we wanted something more exciting. So Reid suggested going to Escape themepark! If you know me, you’d know I’ve never been there before. I don’t know what the rides are like and I don’t like taking roller coasters. In fact, I have never taken a real one before.

Before Escape-ing, we’d to drop by my aunt’s and uncle’s place to help them with some Internet stuff. So Reid spent almost the entire afternoon helping them get anti virus softwares downloaded, cleaning their disk, etc… Until we decided to leave the software to finish installing while we head down to Escape.

And guess what! Thank God, it was the last day they were having their $8.80 (U.P.$17 something) ticket promotion! For unlimited rides! Whoo! What a steal! Reid kept telling me that today was gonna be my “breakthrough day” for rides. I’m very embarrassed to say this, but I have to so you can really understand my phobia. When we sat the mini roller coaster ride, I teared. I was really quite scared. It’s very small, and probably for kids, but yet it made me tear! I didn’t even dare scream. Haha. The second ride we took was the water slide. (sorry I didn’t take notice of all the names!) This one kinda really freaked me out. It’s the one where you sit in a mini cart and the cart travels along a water circuit and goes up a slide and falls at top speed and ends up in a splash. There are two slides. One normal one and one really high and steep one. Needless to say, my heart nearly popped out! I wanted to crawl out halfway through and Reid kept turning back to tell me “you can do it one dear! It’s just like a playground slide” and that comforted me a whole lot. So of course! I conquered it! Though I screamed my lungs out! Hahahaha. Now, I even want more!

After getting wet (just our hair actually cause we wore ponchos), we took this ride where you lie down and get spun round and round. Wa… I was totally nauseous after that. That is one ride I will never ever take again. And then lastly, we went for Go-Kart! Ha! Dammmn fun! There was this point where I drove up a slope and I was thinking oh shit don’t tell me it’s a steep slope down! And alas it was (kinda. not really really steep)! I was so shocked I forgot to brake and started screaming and then Reid shouted from behind, brake! Hahaha…

After that, they were closing already (they close at 8pm) so we just played a little at the carnival, bought some fries from BK and left, very very very happy and fulfilled. And guess what! We’ll have $8 off our next ticket! Expires end of Feb though. So we went back to my aunt’s house to finish up what was left off.

It’s 2nd of Jan! Happy 1st  year, dear! You’ve been the most awesome. The most fantastic, the most amazing, the most wonderful! You’re the man of my life! Hahaha… Am not gonna be mushy and all here, he’s heard it all anyway!

All right. I know this post is a little disjointed, but I’m tired! It’s been two full days of fun and excitement! I’m glad I tried something new on the first day of the new year!

Hmm. FB seems to be having some problems. I haven’t been able to upload photos since yesterday. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Ohhhkaaay. I’m gonna hit the sack soon. YAAWWWN!

P.S.: It still doesn’t feel like we’ve entered a new year! Hahaha…

HAPPY 2009, ONE AND ALL! MAY THIS YEAR BE BETTER THAN THE LAST AND THE BEST YET!
